What does that mean, exactly?
 
Good question. While the concept of coworking has been around for decades, it has only recently begun to shake up traditional business models as we know them. The first designated “coworking” space was founded in San Francisco in the 1980's. This space responded to the antisocial work environments so common in corporate America by creating a location for entrepreneurs to gather, connect and get work done on their terms.

Since then, over 3,000 coworking spaces have been launched world-wide, and the movement continues to grow. Traditional nine-to-five jobs and uninviting office spaces are losing appeal as new waves of entrepreneurs enter the workforce and seek new communities. These coworking spaces often feature moveable furniture layouts, flexible hours, business resources and access to a network of like-minded people who want to do business the way that works best for them.
